Katie Fontaine

North Kingstown, RI

Katie Fontaine, accomplished clarinet, bass clarinet, saxophone, flute, piano performer and instructor- holds a BA in Music History and Music Theory from Rhode Island College and an AFA with High Honors from the Community College of Rhode Island. Katie, an active musician and teacher in the Southern New England area, performs regularly with the Barrington Chamber Orchestra, Narragansett Bay Symphony Orchestra, and Rhode Island College Orchestra, as well as South County Chamber Singers and Assembly Theater. In addition to her rigorous performance schedule, Katie also serves as a freelance performing artist for wind ensembles, marching bands, and musical theater pit orchestras in New England. She was honored to perform in the premier of woodwind quintet “Mountain Morning” by local composer Jean Maxon Carpenter. Katie serves on the board of directors for the South County Chamber Singers. She also has led music therapy classes through Small Steps Therapy in North Kingstown.Katie leads master classes and workshops on woodwinds throughout the South County Rhode Island area and has been teaching and inspiring students of all ages for the past 8 years.
